Sound Designer’s Starter Pack (free): https://daviddumaisaudio.com/starterpack

Recently I discovered the game Atlas Fallen, a third-person action-adventure game where you wield melee weapons and hunt legendary monsters.

As I watched gameplay videos, I kept being drawn to the weapon attack impact sounds and really liked how satisfying they were.

I decided to challenge myself to see if I could recreate similar sounds…but all from scratch.

In this week’s video, I’ll be sharing exactly how I created crunchy impact sounds from scratch in 3 simple steps. I’ll also be breaking down my redesign of a short clip from the game Atlas Fallen.

In this video, we’ll go over:

  • Designing impact sounds in 3 simple steps
  • Designing simple kicks inside Vital
  • Layering and getting more out of your impact sounds
  • A complete layer-by-layer breakdown of a short clip from the game Atlas Fallen

If this was valuable to you, please consider sharing it!
