If you’ve never designed them before, electricity sound effects can feel a little tricky to get right.

You could record electric sounds, but it’s not always safe or easily available.

A common route for sound designers is to create them using synthesis, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing in this video. I’ll be creating an electrical arc sound patch from scratch inside of Vital.

All the tools I use to make the core of the sound are completely free, so even if you’re a beginner, you can follow along and get some pretty cool results.

In this video, we’ll go over:

  • How to use Vital synth to create an electrical arc sound effect
  • Wavetables and automation to use to design our electrical sound
  • Which FX to use to beef up our design
